Chief Concerns: Connor Dawson
Alright, it’s time to give credit where credit is due.
The Chiefs have been the target of NFL “experts” lately, some calling the Chiefs 7-0 start a fluke. Check out some of these NFL Power Rankings from this week.
Wow! Respect much?
With the Chiefs success, there have been some non-believers out there. They’re reason? Well, the Chiefs have a weak schedule.
Okay, I’ll give you that much. But, if you actually compare it to other teams, it’s not really that much more difficult than others.
For instance, many people want to say that the Denver Broncos are the best team in the NFL. Although I will not deny the fact that they are a really, really good football team, I will have to contend that the Broncos schedule is no tougher than the Chiefs.
In fact, the best team that the Broncos have beaten is the Dallas Cowboys at 4-3. The Chiefs have the same team as their best beaten.
Have you seen the Broncos getting disrespected by the media? No? Weird.
Another great point is that the Chiefs are 7-0 because they are taking care of business. Yeah, they’ve played some bad teams, but they won. They did what they should have done. They destroyed them.
But, no, that’s not good enough, is it NFL experts? Being the best at doing their job isn’t worth some praise, is it NFL experts?
Well, the Chiefs are better than any team in the NFL right now, so you might want to rethink that.
The bottom line is that the Chiefs have done nothing more than what they were expected to do. They were expected to beat the Jaguars. They were expected to beat the Giants. They were expected to beat the Eagles and Raiders. They were EXPECTED to win.
Nothing more, nothing less.
So, yes, go ahead NFL “experts.” Go ahead and tell everyone that the Chiefs are winning because they have a weak schedule. And while you’re doing that, the Chiefs are going to go Arrowhead this weekend to win a game that they should win. They are going to continue to do their job and gain the expected result. And, while you’re praising the Denver Broncos win against the 2-5 Redskins this weekend, remember that they were expected to win that. Then, take a look at the Chiefs record.
Oh yeah, it’ll be 8-0.
